EPA Releases Best and Worst Mileage List

2007fordescapehybrid

Yesterday, the Environmental Protection Agency revealed its 2007 Fuel Economy Guide listing vehicles with the best and worst mileage on the road. This will be the last time the EPA uses its current guidelines before switching over to new rules in 2008 that take modern factors — like higher highway speed limits and widespread use of air conditioning — into account. That could mean mileage numbers dipping 20% or more for identical vehicles next year. For now, the usual suspects pop up in the EPA’s lists, along with a few surprises. Keep reading for the full lists, and remember, the EPA assigns designations like "compact car" using interior volume as its guideline. Otherwise, no, we wouldn't call the Bentley Continental GT a compact either.
